Alienz is our own version of what's supposed to happen to the world in 2012. Hopefully, with the help of some unique weapons, you'll be able to prevent the world from ending and the Earth being attacked for good.

Welcome to Alienz! Alienz is our action shooter game made to prevent the Earth from all the Alienz that may attack you. The longer you're able to defend these cute Alienz, the better your score will be on the charts! So how long can you survive?

Things to keep an eye on:
1) Minor or major bugs
2) Impossible achievements to unlock in OpenFeint
3) iOS 4 compatibility
4) Compatibility with older iOS devices

And of course, please tell us your thoughts on Alienz! Whether you have any comments, bugs that you've spotted, or anything else in that nature, we're ready to hear from you! Happy playing and kill those Alienz!

Also, one thing to note, the Twitter features are disabled for now. So please don't be surprised if it doesn't do anything just yet.

So far, the game is fun! :D I do have some recommendations.

1. Maybe show a tutorial by default on the first try. I think the question mark was hard to notice.
2. Add a pause button
3. I think this is a glitch. When you touch the score while playing the game, it takes you to a tutorial. At first, I thought this was a pause button, but it doesn't actually pause the game.
4. On the game over screen, you should make the "Tap here to continue" button more visible. Maybe put a graphic around it.

Overall, great job :)

I thought I had escaped this addiction when I stopped using my PocketPC :) Of course I love this game, but then that was pretty much a given. So far pretty much so good, except for the following two things:

1. Navigation is a bit difficult in places. I assume you're supposed to tap the earth point counter in order to get to the Armory, but it's hard to tap. I keep inadvertently wasting my Smart Bombs! Also, I had to hit the Tap To Continue 2 or 3 times on Game Over to get back to the menu.

2. Either it was a fluke or there is an issue with Earth Point accumulation. After finding two Earth Points, the counter said I only had one. I got to the Armory, where it said I only had one point. I used that point, but when I went back to the main screen it still said I had an Earth Point, which should have been correct because I should have had 2 to start with. Going back in the Armory Screen, it said I had zero Earth Points.

I love the creature with the three eyeballs. I hope there will be more wacky aliens as we get to lasting longer in the game.

I have to agree that the controls are hard to use. And the game crashed after I finished playing.

Do you have any recommendations on the way we'll do this? I was simply thinking we should just show it on the first launch on the armory scene.

Don't you think that the armory scene partly acts for that? It's not a pause screen per se, but it does pause the game. :)

Actually, that's where you upgrade your weapons when you get a weapon point (the blue special item). I think we might need some tutorial to introduce the weapons/special itmes. That might possibly clear up those issues. :)

Great idea! We originally thought that the text really blended in with the game over screen, but apparently it just makes it harder to press and not so visible. We'll be including this in BETA 2.

Great! If you have any issues installing Alienz, just let us know. We tried to iron out all those issues by making the installation thread a sticky and providing some feedback if it doesn't work for you.

I'm with you on that! I thought I escaped from it too after selling my X51v but apparently that didn't work out too well. Glad you like the game!

You could always tap in the space to the right of the stat bar. We could possibly remove the feature of deploying the smartbombs from the statbar, but of course, they could always tap the Earth too. Ohh, don't worry about the "Tap To Continue" button on the game over screen. We're replacing that with a real button in BETA 2. Gotta thank Jeff for that suggestion. I agree it is a bit hard to touch because it's so small. Hopefully this'll fix that. :)

Glad you like our attempt at an Alienz boss! He's the wacky one; that's for sure. We don't have too many alien types as of now, but I'm hoping that we do add in a bit more. Although don't awe at the boss for too long! He has some big damage he takes from you! :P

Do you have any recommendations for us to do to make it easier? We could display some more help information about the controls to fix that. Also, we fixed the crashing issues with the game. Those fixes will be in the upcoming BETA 2. :)

I did start the game with 3 earth points, and I used those right away. What I meant was that while I was playing I earned two more earth points but the game only gave me one to actually use (I didn't try to use them until after I had earned the second one).

I didn't realize you could tap the earth to use smart bombs. Guess I need to look at the help screen more closely!

I think everyone else pretty much touched on what I was going to say. I agree a tutorial about the controls, and also what each upgradable weapon can do. I didn't know you can tap the earth either! Other than that I haven't had any crashes or problems so far.

@PointOfLight That's quite strange that happened. I'll for sure take a look at this one. But are you sure you got the blue powerup and not any other color? I personally haven't seen any issue with that. I'm thinking we should force the user to take a look at that help screen on the first game played. That's one thing we need to improve on; that's for sure. :P

@iLashes Yeah, I think it's quite obvious that we need to fix some of the help features. I think we should simply show the screen when you click the help button now, but instead of closing the window on the first tap, it'll give you some information about the powerups and et cetera. I'm glad it didn't crash on you because there is one bug with the game over scene which'll be fixed in BETA 2. :)

As a side note, what does everyone think of the overall difficulty of the game? We tried our best to balance everything out, but what do you think of it? Because it's such a fast paced game, it's quite difficult to get it perfect.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys! We'll definitely fix the help screen and figure out a way to "force" tutorial on the first run. BETA 2 will be better! :)

On a different note, what do you guys think about the music/soundtrack? We went for "rock" this time. Hope you can share your thoughts with us? :)
