So much has happened since we began the BETA and Jumpbot has improved tremendously--thanks to everyone who gave their inputs and participated! In line with this, we felt that this build is now our first Release Candidate and if things go well this time, we may release it soon. Check out Jumpbot RC1 guys!

http://www.kuyimobile.com/dump_here/jumpbot_rc1.zip

NOTE: Please don't forget to remove/erase the current version on your device before installing this one. You need not install the AdHoc file if you already have it. You can verify this by going to Settings-->General-->Profiles, you should see "Kuyi Mobile AdHoc" in there.

Your previous scores/data won't be affected when you install the latest version--it will automatically detect your OpenFeint account. We would like to invite everyone to please test the ads too--ads from our dev partners and AdMob's. Besides giving us revenues by clicking the ads, this will also ensure that everything works. :)

What's new on RC1?

- New achievement: Close Call (Jump on the edge of a platform)
- New achievement: Parkour (Make a 5-combo quick jump)
- Multiple continuous jump bonus! (this one's a game changer--brilliant suggestion!)
- +5 points for avoiding spikes
- Vanishing platform effect is now slower
- Added Sneezies and Mouth Off ads (our dev partners)
- Changed app icon
- Added start new game dialog/removed the game instructions
- Added a random background changer (we would like to hear your thoughts on this one!)
- Added notification for vanishing platforms
- Changed "L" to "P" for "platform" (instead of "level")
- Removed additional points if player landed on a spike

Whew! Happy playing guys! :)

Great job with this version.

What's different with the icon? I think the openfeint logo should be on the top left corner, and without the reflection. Maybe you can put up a poll so we can vote on different icons

As for the backgrounds, the first time I played, the background got darker and darker with each new level. But the second time I play, it changes to a different color. Was it suppose to go darker the first time?

I noticed you stated we can make combo moves, but I still don't see
How that's possible because wen you jump to another platform it stops until the shadow catches up. It should be where you can jump one after the other without pausing.

The tutorials still show when I play a new game. (exit app, open again, play game and they still show)
Also, the bug that stopped the music from playing when I get a pop up
Message (text, or battery low) has not been fixed.

Also noticed that the Z-order of the transmitter (and maybe some other items) is still above the platform & score label. :)

And another thing. As you get in the game, it really starts slowing down on my 1st gen iPod touch.

@iLashes: Please find my replies below.

On App icon: It was just some minor shadowing. We honestly don't have that many icon designs to choose from but we'll see if we can have a poll.

On combo jumps: Yes, the game still pauses after every jump because of how scrolling was handled but try jumping again after your previous jump & you'll see how it works. We didn't want to change how the game scrolls because we would like to maintain the game's simplicity. The combo jumps are there to reward good players--great suggestion btw!

On notification/music issue: This maybe an iOS4 incompatibility issue & we honestly don't have full support for it yet but we are currently exploring this. The iOS4 SDK is a huge download esp for people who have turtle speed connections (like me). :)

On random backgrounds: Yes, the backgrounds will always be different everytime you play a new game. What do you think? This is something we need everyone's opinion on as well.

On help/tutorials: Yes it will always appear on your first game after running the app again. Our main reasons: (1) It's easier to share the game with a friend or let others play using your own device; and (2) its pretty easy to remove anyway. Also, adding an option to toggle it on/off will make our UI more complicated. At any rate, some players want this feature & others don't so we're torn, we're guessing its a matter of preference so we will probably update the game later on whichever gets the most votes, agree? :)

@Taylor: Z-order's fixed! It was mixed up again after we added the random backgrounds.

@Pointoflight: Sorry about that. Guess being a Mac user for a while really sucks you in. :)

For those running the game on iOS4, how does it work with multitasking? Fast-app switching? Any findings?

Thanks! :)

Any other findings guys? If not, I guess we're ready to release? :)

So far, this game is awesome! :D I did find a bug though. When you lock the screen and then unlock, the music stops. This could be an iOS 4 glitch, but I'm not too sure. In my opinion, the ADs do bug me. I understand that developers has to make money, but I think you should have an in-app purchase option for disabling the ads. I think it also disturbs game play. Overall, awesome work on this game! :)

OMG! It says the provisioning file is invalid. I tried adding it to iTunes as well and syncing and I still can't get the app installed. This happened to me also with the BETA 1.

@jeff_low: Glad you liked it! Yeah I'm afraid the ad has to stay because Jumpbot will be FREE when its released. As for the music bug, its related to what iLashes pointed out before and has been fixed already, thanks! We are still evaluating if we can include in-app items too which can turn off the ad--might be available for a future update.

@firtvid20: Are you running on Windows? Can you try to install just the provisioning profile first then sync? If its successful, install the app and sync again. This solution seemed to work for most of the team.

Thanks guys! Anyone tried Jumpbot with fast-app switching or multi-tasking btw?
