"Jumpbot: It's no doodle but it jumps!"

Download here:
http://www.kuyimobile.com/dump_here/jumpbot_beta1.zip

For those who will be beta testing for the first time, please refer below for installation instructions:
1. Extract the zip file into a temporary folder and you will see 2 (App and AdHoc provisioning profile) files.
2. Run iTunes (make sure your device is connected).
3. Drag the 2 files to your Apps library (left pane on iTunes).
4. Go to your device's Apps tab and make sure that "Jumpbot" is checked.
5. Sync your device!

Playing tips:
1. Jumpbot may seem fast-paced but its actually a game of "patience".
2. Make that jump whenever you're ready, don't hurry.
3. Timing is key.
4. Practice makes perfect.
5. Earphones highly recommended!

Some things to look out for:
1. Bugs (minor and major)
2. Typographical errors
3. Impossible achievements (via OpenFeint)
4. Compatibility with iOS4
5. Compatibility with old and new devices

We're excited to hear from you! Whether they be bug reports, suggestions, comments or violent reactions, we're listening (please post in this thread)! Our goal is to make Jumpbot even better. Happy playing guys! :)

1. I think it is no need to show "How To Play" every time you start a game. Or add a button to turn it off.
2. Maybe think to add different background if the robot jump over 50, 100, 150 ,etc.
3. Maybe add a item which can jump 2 floor and if the jump ok, the scores will be a lot more than jumping 2 times. i.e. jumping 2 floor can score 150-200
4. Name this mode be continue mode. Add another time mode (1min, 2mins and 5mins). Let see how many score the user can score in limited time.

It works fine on my iPhone 3G with iOS4. I will try it on iTouch with 3.1.3.

Here's some of my new ideas:
1) It might be nice if the user would get more points if landing on a platform that has a spike on it.
2) Maybe you could possibly base the score you get also off the speed of platform. Also if it were based off the size too, that would be great!

I am having a problem transferring the files into my iTunes app library. I can download and unzip the files, and I see two file folders, and one other individual file. When I try to drag, I get one of those nice circles with the line through it. It will not let me drop it anywhere within iTunes. I tried copying and pasting also and this didn't work either. I'm not terribly familiar with iTunes, so any help would be appreciated.

So far, It's an awesome game! :D The frame rate is good and I love the catchy music. I do have some things that you should fix/add to the game:

1. Pan screen when stepping on 3rd plat.
2. iOS “Fast switching” feature.
3. Remove the how-to. Just have that screen when first playing.
4. Resume
5. I fall down when barely touching edge.

1) Yeah, I think that would be a better way to do it than to do it every time.
2) We still need to totally take a look at the iOS fast switching feature. :)
3) That's one thing that has been recommended.
4) Jumpbot was made to really be a open and play type of game. From my understanding, it's something that the user should just pick up and play; not to resume... :)
5) Hmm, I haven't seen that happen when playing it... can anyone else fill in for that?

No problem Carla, we're here to help. When you unzip the file, it should extract to a subfolder. Open that folder and you'll see 2 individual files (AdHoc and the App itself). Select those 2 files and drag it over to your iTunes Applications Library (left pane). Connect your device and sync. Can you please try it again?

1. The "How To Play" dialog also serves as a "pause" state before the player starts a new game. It's just a click away, do you think we shouldn't show it anymore if the player decides to start another game?

2. That's a nice suggestion! Not sure if we can accommodate it upon release but we'll see. If not, it should be a nice update. :)

3. That's actually on our list and we're still looking for a way we can integrate it w/out making the game more complicated. As you may have noticed, we focused on making it as simple as possible and will appeal to all types of players--casual and hardcore players alike.

4. Another nice suggestion! Noted. :)

Glad you liked it! :)

1. Not sure what you mean, care to explain more? :)
2. This is something we haven't tested the game on. For sure we will update the game with iOS4 support.
3. Your the second one who mentioned this. Guess we need a vote on this? The idea for that is to "pause" the game upon restart and allow the player to take his/her time.
4. As mentioned by Taylor, the game was designed to be picked up and played quickly. It'll just take you 3-4 minutes at most to complete a game which is why we didn't bother include a save/resume feature.
5. Can you explain this further? Was this a bug?

So far I've played a few times and I was thinking it would be cool to jump on another platform really fast right after the other and get combos for doing so.
